Lighthouse ArtCenter Summer Enrichment ArtCamp

March 25, 2015
Children ages 4 to 12 will be immersed in creativity and global delight during Lighthouse ArtCenter’s 45th Annual Summer Enrichment ArtCamp. Each themed week takes ArtCampers on a virtual journey through the world’s greatest art museums, and explores famous pieces of art while revealing the history, customs, art techniques and cultures of each country. Kids will create their own masterpieces in ceramics, drawings, mixed-media, painting and sculpture. Each adventurous week ends with a special “music Friday” featuring the native sounds and songs of that week’s country.

“We are looking forward to the endless possibilities and fun that will evolve with our young artists this summer!  Having just returned from Paris, I am excited to share that breathtaking thrill of discovering foreign cultures and world-class art with our local children,” says Cynthia Trone, Director of Education at the Lighthouse ArtCenter School of Art.

Lighthouse ArtCenter hosts weekly presentations from local professional artists, giving campers an unprecedented opportunity to learn from some of the most passionate, talented and dynamic people in the area. Whether it is a visit to the ancient Acropolis in Greece, the mysterious “Mona Lisa” at the Louvre in France, or 5,000 years of Chinese art from the National Palace Museum in Taipei – each week will be a fabulous adventure of artistic discovery and wild creativity.
