Generation Stand UP’s Music Fest is a unique three part event series held on the first Saturday of every month from April to June at Harbourside Place organized by the Stand UP Foundation, a nonprofit organization providing leadership, mentoring and educational programs promoting social and emotional wellness for teens. Community service hours are available for teens who register at 6pm at the Stand UP Foundation table at the event. Local high schools will have exhibitor tables. The event is free admission, but love donations will be accepted.
“We hope the Generation Stand UP Music Fest will be the first step towards initiating a community wide discussion about social and emotional wellness,” said Ashley Le Grange, LMHC, NCC, Director and Founder of Stand UP Foundation. “The topics in the series were chosen by members of our Women Making Waves teen peer mentoring program, and this is the third conference they are helping to organize. Our mission is to empower teens with the knowledge and skills necessary to lead a strong healthy lifestyle. We’ve been successful with a variety of innovative activities, and we just added a new peer mentoring program for guys called Men Moving Mountains.”
The second part in the Fest series “Loving the Me I See” will be presented on May 7th in partnership with the Alliance for Eating Disorders, Therapeutic Oasis, and Glow and Flow Yoga and the final part in the series “Hardwired for Happiness” will be presented in June in partnership with John Denney, MA, Performance Coach and AustinBlu Foundation.
